Program 2017
EPRIE 2017 - Migration, integration, and belonging
EPRIE 2017 will take a closer look at global migration patterns as well as differences and similarities between migration policies in Europe and East Asia. Is the rollback of migration policies in Europe part of a global phenomenon? Is building walls a new trend in global migration policies? While focusing on East Asia, we will discuss new trends and factors, which play a significant role in current migration policies within the region. In addition, we will discuss the different meanings of integration and the belonging of migrants. Together with alumni, we will examine the effects of migration on regional alliances and on nation states.
EPRIE is oriented towards young people from Europe (mainly France, Germany, Poland) and East Asia (mainly China, Japan, Korea). EPRIE 2017 takes place in East Asia (South Korea and Japan) from June 21 to July 3 in East Asia.
It consists of:
- 3 days of preliminary program with temple stay, meditation, introductory session, and visit of an NPO (in Busan, South Korea),
- 5 days of sessions with intensive peer to peer exchange on the topic of migration and visits to organisations (in Paju and Seoul, South Korea),
- 4 days of sessions with alumni and visits to NPO'S (in Tokyo, Japan).
