From June 27 to July 8 Korea Verband has organized the exchange program EPRIE 2018 “Media in times of populism and post-truth politics – challenges and opportunities” in Krzyżowa / Wroclaw (Poland), Potsdam / Berlin (Germany) and Brussels (Belgium). Twenty young people aged between 25 and 35 years participated in the program, half of them from Europe (Germany, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, Armenia, Macedonia, and Romania) and half from Asia (China, Japan, Korea, and Pakistan). The group was also balanced in terms of proportions between academics and practitioners and gender.(more…)
We are pleased to inform you that the concept for the documentary series “What is home to you?” has been created by EPRIE Alumni and thanks to the EPRIE project fund the two pilot episodes will be shot this summer in Germany and South Korea. Yet the team behind the documentary series is still looking for collaborators.
The alumni of the EPRIE program published the new EPRIE Journal 2017 on migration, integration, and belonging. The EPRIE Journal for Regional Integration in East Asia and Europe is the successor of the Korea Forum Special issues on EPRIE and covers the topics of EPRIE as well as the activities and research of the alumni.
You can download the new EPRIE Journal for Regional Integration in East Asia and Europe 2017 on our website for publications here:
EPRIE aims to exchange perspectives and experiences between East Asia and Europe. In 2018 we will take a closer look at the challenges posed by rising populism and post-truth politics to the media sector and the opportunities they present for media to tackle these issues.
The program will take place in Europe (Poland, Germany, and Belgium) from June 27 to July 8, 2018. Application deadline will be on Sunday, April 8, 2018 (extended deadline!). For further information, please have a look at the program of EPRIE 2018:
What is EPRIE all about? Our alumnus Matthias Jochmann, participant of EPRIE 2017, made a short video clip summarizing the EPRIE experience in South Korea and Japan.
Application period starts in February 2018.
